I love the WR40 rims. They’re width and profile makes them strong, light and aero as well as being super versatile. Here mine are laced to a dynamo/White Industries hubset with Sapim black/red/blue spokes to match the frame.

Hey Tim, how are you finding the tyre-rim combo? I had in mind a similar idea - 40mm deep rims with 2.2" Race Kings for touring and bikepacking on my xc bike. Did you find any issues with fitting an xc tyre to a gravel rim? Any problems with sealing or the tyre rolling off the rim? How do they compare to a typical low profile xc rim? Do you find them perhaps too stiff (fatigue) or too fragile? sorry for a lot of questions, but I'm very curious :)

Hi Pawel There haven’t been any issues with tyre compatibility thank goodness. The race kings went on fine and hold well. They roll very fast which is why I love them. As for stiffness etc, I’m not pushing them too hard on rough or technical terrain. I’m mindful that the 24 spokes are lightweight and ride reasonably cautiously. I am carrying a spare spoke also, just in case. As for rider fatigue, that is taken out by the suspension fork, stem, and larger volume tyres. Hope that somewhat helps. Cheers Tim
