Gary : Love these wheels! Very light and strong, built with sapim cx ray straight pull spokes and Novatec hubs. I use these mainly for winter use, in the wind, and for wet roads... and hill climbs as they are so light, good all-rounders. I use deep section wheels for long flat summer rides. Tubeless tyres fit perfectly, not too tight not too loose. The grooved graphene brake surface works really well in the wet and the dry and make a great sound when braking.. no need to get an expensive heavy disk brake bike with harsh ride quality. I weigh 80kg for reference (sprinter) Great price, excellent quality, perfect, will buy another deeper set soon.

Hi, which tubeless-rimtape do you recommend for the Falcon RIM AR36 (width, brand)?

LightBicycle 2023/03/17

Hi Andy, Thanks for your inquiry! It is okay to use tubeless rim tape around 25mm. We have rim tape as below. https://www.lightbicycle.com/tubeless-rim-tape.html Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hello is it possible to get RR36C02 in a rim brake version? I don't see the option to order. Just in disc. Looking for 20h front and 24h rear. Possibly with Gold decals.

Can you tell me where to see detailed photos of the different rim options -3k, 12k, UD, Gloss/matt and logos - I dont really know from your website what they look like unless I am not looking in the right place. Thanks in advance

LightBicycle 2019/05/24

Hi John, We just sent some clear photos of carbon fiber bike rims to your email. Please check. UD is the most popular option. All of our rims are with United Direction fibers besides the top layer. Which finish will you go for? Also attaching the decals for your ref, not sure what color you want to see. The decal on the photo is the most popular color "stealth". Note that it's the waterslide type of graphics. It is applied to the rim under a clear coating. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi there, which rim is better suited to the tubeless CONTINENTAL GP5000 TL 28MM - the RR36CO2-28mm or RRU35CO2-25mm? Thanks.

LightBicycle 2019/05/16

Hi Sir, Thanks for your inquiry! If you use 28mm tires, RR36C02-28mm wide 700C wide disc rims are better for aerodynamic. Do you like rims only or complete wheelset? The delivery cost is USD33.3 for two rims to Singapore by EMS delivery. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Sebastian 2018/07/06

Hi, will there be a lighter non disc version of these rims, maybe 420g? And will you do (laser) textured brake tracks as seen on Campagnolo or Bontrager wheels for better braking in the wet? Kind regards, Sebastian

LightBicycle 2018/07/06

Hi Sebastin, Lighter version certainly means sacrificed some strength and impact resistance of the rim. Are you sure you want to make a lighter version? If so, I will need to learn more about your riding. Can you kindly provide below info to me so that I can consult with our engineer to see if there's a possibility to make the non-disc version lighter? Yes, we can make texture brake surface on rims. 1. Your weight. 2. What kind of riding you do? 3. Are you an aggressive rider? Thanks, Lightbicycle

S

Seabstian 2018/07/07

I am 72kg and ride only on the road, with some racing. What is your rider weight limit for the 440g rims? And with - textured - you mean your usual carbon-basalt brake track (picture 1) or something roughened like Bontrager does with its "laser control" (picture 2)? 1: https://forum.tour-magazin.de/attachment.php?attachmentid=620725&d=1502533327 2: https://i1.wp.com/aerogeeks.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/BT18_Aeolus_XXX_Wheels_52.jpg

Sebastian 2018/07/08

And do you also offer Carbon-Ti X-hubs SP road?

LightBicycle 2018/07/09

Dear Sebastian, Yes, Carbon Ti hubs are available. Do you want to build a complete wheelset from us using Carbon Ti hubs and RR36C02 flyweight rims (410g+/-15)? If yes, i can send you this road disc wheelset quotation to your email address. Thanks, Lightbicycle

LightBicycle 2018/07/18

Hi Seabastian, The recommended rider weight is under 90kg. As for the brake track. The RR36C02 is using our new high TG resin technology, which can bear the 240-degree heat. The default weave is 3K (same as your first picture shows). You can customize the brake track weave if you like, both standard or CNC carving pattern like the second picture shows. Note that we will charge extra for customized brake track. Let me know if you need a customized the brake track pattern. Better to provide the graphic for the pattern if possible. Thanks, Lightbicycle

LightBicycle 2019/03/30

Hi, Do you guys build with hubs other than 240s and bitex? I was looking at a tune king/kong or newmen gen 2 centrelock hubs for some 35mm deep rims. Also at 72kgs, is 24/24 ample for road bike dise use? Cheers

LightBicycle 2019/03/04

Hi Dave, Of course, we can build with road disc wheelset with Tune KingKong, Hope, Chris King, Extralite(lightweight), Carbon-Ti(lightweight), Hope, etc. Which would you like? Here're some quotes for your reference. The wheelset is USD1064.4/pair built with RR36C02(36mm deep, 28mm wide) or RRU35c02(25mm wide). Tune king kong, 24H/24H, center lock, 12/100mm front, 12/142mm rear, sapim cx-ray bladed spokes. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Michael 2019/01/24

Hello, will the road rims also be availiable with the new finish of the Recon Pro MTB rims? Kind regards, Michael.

LightBicycle 2019/01/25

Hi Michael, For Road pro rims, they will be availble around March. It is wide road series. Are you looking for road or road disc rims? Thanks, Lightbicycle

M

Michael 2019/02/04

Hi, a non disc Road Pro rim with the paintless finish would be interesting. Will they have the same dimensions 28 x 36mm and a lower weight? Kind regards, Michael.

LightBicycle 2019/02/05

Hi Michael, The Pro road series is under development, it will apply the same black Tek as the MTB Recon Pro series. So they will have the same rim surface (organic carbon texture). It will be around 32mm wide road rims, currently, we still haven't got the rim weight information about new road disc series from our engineer team. I will contact you when it is ready. By the way, you email address has some problem. We sent a few emails to you a few days ago, but it looks like it failed. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Paul 2018/09/29

Hello, I'm interested in a pair of RR36C02 in this configuration: Hooked Disc UD Carbon 28 hole Matte finish Would these ship from a North American warehouse or directly from China? If from China, would I have to add the new tariff to the indicated price? Thanks

LightBicycle 2018/09/30

Hi Paul, Dear Paul Do you want the disc or non-disc rim? Our North American warehouse has the popular setup (disc version with UD, matte, 28H) offered. it's currently in stock. But if you want a non-disc version, the rim will be ordered to produce, and ship from China. We can discuss more by mail. Note that the decal would be nonremovable waterslide decal in black if you want graphics on the rims. Thanks Lightbicycle

Is the decal "non-removeable black waterslide graphic" the same as the graphics on the photos? Is it available at China warehouse also?

LightBicycle 2018/09/18

Hi, Marvin 1. Yes, the "non-removable black waterslide graphic" is the one you saw from the photos. We stock the RR36C02 (28mm wide, 36mm deep) road rims with this decal on. You may also notice that it's glossy. Yes, the stocked rims are with glossy decals. 2. This decal is available at China warehouse as well, but not online though. You can contact us by mail or through Intercom for more details. We also offer customized decals in case you are interested. Thanks Lightbicycle

I've done a few rides on these now. RR36C02 with Dt240 disc fitted with Conti Force and Attack tyres 25/23. Happy and the profile with the 23 on the front is nice. The transition from tyre to rim is a nice shape.

LightBicycle 2018/08/06

Hi Haydn, Glad to see your comment about your road disc wheels. Will you be kind enough to share some pictures for your bike? I would love to see how they turn out on your bike. And put the picture on our website gallery if it's ok. Thanks, Lightbicycle

LightBicycle 2018/08/01

Hi Mike, For your information, the Pantone color code for the stealth decal is Cool Gray 10 C. You can go to the Pantone website to see the exact color. Attaching with a rim with stealth decals on for your ref. Is this the color you are looking for? We also offer customized decal service for our customer. Let me know if you want a customized color. Samuel 2018/07/22

Which nipples do you recommend for these rims? Are washers required?

LightBicycle 2018/07/23

Hi Samuel, Normally, we use sapim proyax secure lock nipples for our bike wheels. We do not use nipple washers here for building wheels. The spoke holes’ wall strength is strong enough. But if you insist to use nipple washers, it is okay if you do not mind weight adding. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Robert 2018/05/18

Hello, do you also plan a rim with 30mm outside and 21mm inside? The aerodynamic optimum is a rim that is 5 to 10 percent wider than the tire. A Continental 4000S II 25mm tire is 28.5mm wide on a rim with 21mm inside, so 30mm outside would be perfect. With 23mm inside, the tire will be even wider, so that would not match. Thanks!

LightBicycle 2018/05/18

Hi Robert, Most customers like to ride wider tires. So, our RR56C02 rim is 30mm wide and 56mm deep. If you like, we can send you the rim profile. Thanks, Lightbicycle

R

Robert 2018/05/19

Hello, maybe you could do the 30mm wide rim hookless with 23mm inside (for wider tires that will be no problem) and a hooked version with 21mm inside for people who want to run 25mm tires for best aerodynamics and crosswind stability. Thanks!

LightBicycle 2018/05/31

Hi Robert, The new 56mm rim is compatible with 25~50mm wide tires. Thanks, Lightbicycle
