TECH

The 36mm deep is one of the newest members of our Road/Gravel lineup and the perfect partner for your next adventure. As more drop bar bikes become compatible with multiple wheels sizes, utilize these 650b rims with burly tires when the road gets rough.

Running larger tires brings better bump compliance, greater flat protection, and more grip. With a hooked bead and an internal width of 22mm, the AR36 can run anything from the super low pressures for gravel, right up to high pressure when the ride turns to pavement.

Philippe : A combination of 650b with 48mm tires at the rear and 700c with 38mm tire at the front is just right for gravel: good traction and comfort, slacker geometry. Hi, I have a 3XS Canyon Endurace CF SL 8. I'm looking for a set of 650B wheels and will most like be fitting either 25/28mm tires (Don't do any gravel riding). Do you have any experiences fitting the Falcon AR36 650B onto the Endurace frame and whether there are any issues with that?

LightBicycle 2022/04/14

Hi Julian, For AR35 650B rims, they are okay for 25/28mm tires. Don't worry about it. Most of our use 25mm/28mm/30mm/32mm tires on these rims 650B. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Jessie 2020/07/27

Hi, I am interested in the Falcon AR36 650B DISC Gravel wheelset for my 2019 Surly Straggler with SRAM 1x and quick release. I wanted to see if the following option would work for me: Onyx Vesper hub and QR axle options, SRAM XDR freehub body. Thank you!

LightBicycle 2020/07/27

Hi Jessie, 1. Normally, the road wheels are with 24H/28H spoke count. 32H is a lot of spokes for disc road wheels, and it adds some weight to the build. What kind of riding do you plan to do with this build? With what tires? 2. Do you like front 100mm QR/rear 135mm QR, sram XDR free hub? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Is it possible to build a 650b wheelset with SRAM XDR?

David 2019/04/23

I ride a recumbent bike with a 650B in the rear and a 406 in the front. I am working with SMC to have a carbon clincher wheel produced. I am interested in purchasing a single rear wheel from LightBicycle. The wheel that fits my needs is the "Disc 650B gravel wheels 29mm wide 36mm deep tubeless for cyclocross and gravel bikes". The hub spacing is 135mm What would be the pricing for this configuration. Thanks I have not finished the specification of the front wheel and would like many of the components to match. So I can make some changes before I place my order. On the front wheel I specified DT Swiss, with center lock and straight pull spokes in a Matte finish. The front wheel: 406-C30-30 Matte finish Presta valve 100mm Hub DT-Swiss Hub with center disc lock and QR skewers

LightBicycle 2019/04/25

Hi David, Yes, you can order the rear gravel wheel only from us, here's the quote for your ref. Rear wheel WG722 is USD333 with below configurations. --Rim: RG722, 29mm wide, 36mm deep, UD, matte, 24H, no brake surface? --Hub: Black DT SWISS 350, 135mm*QR, Straight pull, center lock, freehub? --Spokes: black Sapim CX-Ray, SP --Nipples: black alloy Do you like to include QR skewers? It's USD58/pair. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Colin 2019/05/10

Light bicycle, I have a Cannondale slate. Can you build me up a set of these wheels with the lefty front hub? I did not see the option for the front hub while browsing on my phone.

LightBicycle 2019/05/11

Hi Colin, We do have Lefty hubs available, mostly for MTB model wheels. For lefty 1.0 (lefty 50 or fork Cannondale Lefty Oliver), we offer DT SWISS 240s. Is that ok with you? What about rear hub size you like for 650B grave bike wheels? 12*142mm? Thanks, Lightbicycle
